The Q&A on this Product QUESTION:  Can this or any of your products be used to protect a plug boot that TOUCHES a tubular header pipe? This a problem on one plug on a ford 289 with headers ANSWER:  None of our products can protect a plug boot from damage when it is touching a header. Heat simply conducts thru a little bit slower, still reaching a damaging temperature (See the 1st Law of Thermodynamics and applied Black Body Theory for reference). Only an air gap will work. The good news is, ALL of our products will work as long as even a tiny (>1mm) air gap exists. Without a small air gap, there is no product in the world that will prevent damage to the plug boot.
