QUESTION: I've had a terrile time installing this undertail. The hardest part was around the taillight to get it to fit flush. Alot of dremmeling was involved. Could I have gotten a bad undertail.
ANSWER: The only thing you should have had to cut is the two holes to mount the undertail to the tail section.
QUESTION: In one answer you say that there is a license plate light and in another one you say that there is no light. What is the final answer?
ANSWER: There is a license plate light on this undertail kit.
QUESTION: the kit only came with 2 bolts. i see that i have to drill 4 holes total. what bolts do i use where?
ANSWER: The two metal bolts are for the license plate bracket. The kit also comes with 2 black Pop rivets that holds the undertail to your stock tail section. If you are missing hardware give Hotbodies Racing a call direct.

ANSWER: For the license plate. Location is up to you.
QUESTION: does this undertail kit replace all the existing hardware stock to the bike or will this kit require modifications to the existing hardware?
ANSWER: To install this kit all you remove is your stock exhaust heat shield and then just drill two holes to mount the undertail to the tail section.
QUESTION: I cant tell from the pictures where the plate is mounted and does this require drilling?
ANSWER: The kit comes with 2 L shape brackets for the license plate where to mount it is up to you just drill two holes in the part.

QUESTION: i ordered this undertail for my cbr1000rr ...07....I have already installed it and i didnt have to take the metal heat shield off the top of the exhaust......Is there a problem here?.....Or will it b ok??
ANSWER: If you didn't take out the heat shield, it should be okay.
QUESTION: Do I need to order a flasher kit as well to slow down the LED's? Also does the signal lights also run as running lights?
ANSWER: Yes, if you want the blinkers to flash slow you will need a relay. Also the rear signals do not work as running lights because even with your stock blinkers it is not a running light.

QUESTION: Read a few questions pertaining to the heat shield and want to make sure I understand. Have to remove the metal heat shield that covers the entire exhaust or the black plastic heat shield or both in order to install?
ANSWER: Just the heat shield above the exhaust your glove box stays the same. This kit comes with extra heat shielding which you put on the bottom side of the glove box.
QUESTION: i have a intergrated tail light will i still be able to use the signals in conjuction with the brake light blinker?
ANSWER: yes

ANSWER: you will have to remove the heat shield to install the undertail

ANSWER: it should be okay but if your worried i would recommend buying some extra heat shield tape from Napa to apply to the bottom of the glove box.

ANSWER: It will work with any exhaust. The only thing you have to drill is the mounting holes for your plate and 2 holes on your tail to mount the undertail.

ANSWER: you have to unbolt your stock muffler to remove that stock heat shield.
