Hotbodies' NEW Slash Cut Megaphone for the GSX-R 1000 (05-06) gives you the MotoGP inspired look of the NEW GSX-R 600/750. The megaphone includes a perforated core to reduce dB levels, all you can see is the megaphone exiting the right side top edge of the bodywork. This slip-on kit can be installed in under an hour using the tool kit. We recommend getting the bike re-jetted to achieve maximum power gains. Combine this with the Hotbodies Undertail and Hugger for the best look on the street.

    QUESTION:  I read this won't fit an SV650...however, can you provide me with the inlet size? I'm sure it will fit, it's just a matter of using a correct midpipe?
    ANSWER:  I don’t have the exact ID on the pipe but its in between 1.65 & 1.81
    QUESTION:  hey there, i have put a megaphone exhaust on my gix 1000 k6, love the pipe but it pops sometimes when i back off the throttle in high rpm, that means my bike is running to rich doesnt it? what can i do to make this stop? thank you.
    ANSWER:  If you want to adjust the fuel I am pretty sure the only way to do that is with a power commander.
    QUESTION:  i have an 04 gsx r 600 if i put 05 1000 cc headers with this slip on work or is there an easier way??
    ANSWER:  You can put the megaphone on with your headers, just try searching some forums for some info.
    QUESTION:  I've a Suzuki Gsx-R 1000 '03. I want to unplug the wire of the exhaust valve. Which color of wire do I have to cut?
    ANSWER:  Please check with a certified mechanic in your area.
    QUESTION:  so i will gain more power if i get this pipe with out doing anything futher, is that correct? and if i did want more power for my gsxr1000k6 would i be able to put a power commander in myself and not have to do anything else e.g put in on a dyno. thanks cliffy.
    ANSWER:  Yes that is correct.
    QUESTION:  I have a 2003 gsxr 600 and would like to custom fit this exhaust so can you tell me the diameter of the fitted end? Also, is it street legal exhaust due to loudness? Thanks
    ANSWER:  The part that bolts up to the headers is about 2 inches. As for being street legal you would have to check with your local DMV.
    QUESTION:  dose the pipe for the 06gsxr work on the 08gsxr
    ANSWER:  No it will not work on the 08 model GSX-R we do make a megaphone for the 08 600/750 part # you need is 60801-2100

    ANSWER:  Sorry but we do not make a undertail exhaust kit for this bike
    QUESTION:  I wanted to use this exhaust in a custom application, but wanted to know if there was any physical difference between this megaphone for the 05-06 GSXR and the 08 Busa besides the pick up points? Do you have the measurements of them, length, etc? Are the baffles used any different for the bigger bikes? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
    ANSWER:  The 08 Busa ID is a bit smaller than the S05GS-XSO.
    QUESTION:  would this pipe fit on a 05 gsx-r 750? if not how come?
    ANSWER:  Yes this pipe can fit onto that bike but honestly not sure what you would have to modify. Try searching for a forum for more info.
    QUESTION:  Is there a way to reduce the db for this exhaust down to the 92db maximum limit for Laguna Seca?
    ANSWER:  Sorry but we can’t add anything else to this exhaust to make it to that DB rating.
    QUESTION:  i have a cbr 929 with a micron serpent system on it now and want to keep my headers and midpipe but want the look of the slashcut megaphone i was wondering what size the inlet was on the megaphone mine is 2 and one quarter inches o.d. please get back a.s.a.p. thank you
    ANSWER:  The ID on these slash cuts are about 2 inches.
    QUESTION:  Back to the black and brown wires. I took off the Orane Cap trying to unplug the Black and Brown wire but it was the could you be alittle more specific. As the grey plug sit in the ECU there are two black and brown wires one on top and one offset on the bottom. which wire do I unplug. Neither on are "eighth (8th) wire". The one on top is the 9th and the other is the 11th.
    ANSWER:  Go to www.gixxer.com it’s a Suzuki forum that would be the best place to check.
    QUESTION:  i heard a bike with this pipe and it was extremely loud. i was wondering if the baffle is removable and might have been the cause, to make a louder sound. And if so will it lose a lot of power.
    ANSWER:  The baffle is welded in this exhaust.

    ANSWER:  Im sure you can make it fit but it would be a custom thing.

    ANSWER:  we ship to New Zealand for an additional amount ranging between $25-75 depending on total weight, insurance and delivery time. Once you place the order (just go through the online process) we will charge your account the additional amount.     ANSWER:  Major modifications would be required. We do not recommend this installation.

    QUESTION:  Hi, there are 3 different tips in your pictures. I would like to order the tip shown in the 1st of the 3 smaller pictures located right under the appliation chart. What would the part number be for that? Do you have it in stock?
    ANSWER:  They are the same pipe just different sides of the bike
    QUESTION:  I have a slip on Yoshimura on my bike now. Are there any additional modifications to make in order to mount this pipe? Is this pipe louder than a Yosh?
    ANSWER:  Yes, this pipe is louder then a yoshi. Also I am not sure if you would have to modify your after market exhaust to fit this. This was made to fit with stock headers.
    QUESTION:  Everyone seems to be talking about how loud this pipe is? Are the db levels safe, because at 105 and higher you can loose some hearing. The pipe looks great.
    ANSWER:  There is no DB rating for this exhaust.
    QUESTION:  Can I get a twin megaphone exhaust for my 06 GSX1300R Hayabusa? Does it only come in chrome?
    ANSWER:  We do not make a megaphone exhaust for the busa, but we have seen people buy two of these kits and make them fit on the busa which looks great. They only come in chrome.
    QUESTION:  What is the db levels of the slash cut mega exhaust? Is it around 105 db's? Will I need to wear ear plugs?
    ANSWER:  Hotbodies does not have the exact DB rating of the exhaust but it sounds just like any other after market exhaust.
    QUESTION:  What is the F.I. light and why would it need to be unplugged?
    ANSWER:  The FI light is a emission control which reads air & fuel mixture. If you don't unplug it, the light will be on constantly on your gauge cluster.
    QUESTION:  on your question and answer board you mention disconnecting wires from the ECU to remove the FI light. Is this totally safe? And for long periods of time?
    ANSWER:  Yes, it safe. All you arer doing by disconnecting those wires is by-passing the FI light.
    QUESTION:  if i leave my f.i. light on will will my bike start to mess up w/ your exhaust?
    ANSWER:  No, it will not mess up your bike. If you decide to get a power commander that will remove the FI light.
    QUESTION:  everyone keeps asking if it is safe for the bike and if my bike has lost any power. and it has started to worry me. is this exhaust safe for my bike and will i be able to keep this on my bike for a long time without having nothing to worry about?
    ANSWER:  Yes, that exhaust is the same as other exhaust kits.

    ANSWER:  this exhaust has a after market sound to it.

    ANSWER:  Yes, this exhaust as an after market sound to it. Louder then stock.
    QUESTION:  why are you telling me i might have to re-jett a 05-06 GSXR-1000 when the bike is fuel injection? Also at the same time you are saying that you do not need power comander. Well hello if the exhaust needs to be adjusted a power comander is the only way with a new map installed. Am i right or am i wrong please respond. you say it does not lose any power well is there any gain in power.
    ANSWER:  You do not need a power commander but if you want the Full potential HP out of the exhaust it would be best to install a power commander - its really up to you.

    ANSWER:  No, it will not fit on the 07 GSXR600.

    ANSWER:  sorry but Hotbodies does not make the exhaust for that bike.
    QUESTION:  i got this exhaust on my bike right now and i have no power commander, if i leave my bike like this eventually will my bike start to lose power or will i have problems with my bike?
    ANSWER:  no you will not have any problems if you dont have a power commander.

    ANSWER:  No because this kit still have a baffle system so it should be fine.
    QUESTION:  Is there a Powercommander map for the Slash Cut Megaphone Side Mount Exhaust available fitted on a Suzuki GSXR1000 K5?
    ANSWER:  There is no map for the Power commander but if you want one we recommend you have the bike put on a dyno that way they can program the pc3 for your bike and the exhaust.
    QUESTION:  what about the f.i. light after u put the exhaust on? how do u get rid of that after putting on the exhaust. and should u put a power commander after putting it on
    ANSWER:  here's how to get rid of the FI light

    1) Find the Grey plug on the ECU
    2) Under the "orange cap" there is a BLACK and BROWN wire, the 8th wire in...unplug it

    QUESTION:  does this exhaust have to have an exhaust valve like on the stock one? And is there a way to make it a little more quiet?
    ANSWER:  On this exhaust, you remove the butterfly valve. The kit already has the baffle built in for noise reduction.
    QUESTION:  the hotbodies exhaust do u have to bypass the catalytic converter on the stock exhaust
    ANSWER:  You will have to bypass the butterfly valve on the exhaust kit.
    QUESTION:  How does the exhaust sound at idle compaired to the stock. Does it carry a deeper tone?
    ANSWER:  At idle it will have a deeper tone than stock.
    QUESTION:  is this exhaust loud? and does it sacrifice power
    ANSWER:  The exhaust on top end does get pretty loud, but sounds very aggressive. The bike does not lose power.
    QUESTION:  Do you have any pic's/cost of the undertail system for gsxr K5 1000 yet also does the slash cut fit straight on without losing the exup and do you ship to the UK cheers
    ANSWER:  We only carry the megaphone exhaust for this bike, we do not offer an undertail exhaust. It fits on to the end of the pipe and does not affect the EXUP valve assembly. We ship to the UK, shipping costs are determined by the size and weight of the package and cannot be estimated until time of shipment, when it is added as a second charge to the credit card used for the primary transaction.

    ANSWER:  We are still in production and going through some final testing. It will be anther 2-3 months, because it will fit perfectly and produce improved performance as well as improved appearance.
